Hi

My BSNL Broad Band Dataone connection disconnects every half hour if I dont download at least 5MB in half hour. I called Bsnl technical people and asked them why ?. But they said that I have to look for that myself and that they have everything right on their side.

I am using Win XP with latest service pack (SP2)

If I download more than 5 MB in half hour, the connection stays on for unlimited time. When ever I just keep the connection on with out downloading or downloading small amounts (just browsing) it hangs up. I also checked my connection properties and have the "idle connection hang up time" to NEVER.

Please help

Thanks.

i stay logged on to mirc for 8-10 hours at a stretch.. at times like when i go to take my bath and dinner.. the computer is left idle for 45 minutes at a stretch.. even when i am using the same, the amount of bandwidth consumed is very low (roughly 9mb was consumed in my last login which lasted 5 hours and 13 minutes). according to the statistics shown for the disconnection problem, i should have used 50mb or more during the same period.. have never faced disconnections  pupudada

Please help me find some solution.

BSNL is good - very good speeds, very high reliability. As a member earlier pointed out, spend some time on bsnl website, and think through what plan best suits you.All the best!
