How is it pain to ride? Its better than walking anyway. (in terms of efforts). Plus faster than segway and much easy to control.cycle will be a pain to ride and store when there are lots of people on platform.
cycle is hard to turn in platform packed with people. cycle requires both hands. segways (and other electric carts) have hands free or atleast one hand free to carry stuff. and cycle requires more human energy compared to just standing on electic vehicles. and there is already charging infrastructure in major stationsHow is it pain to ride? Its better than walking anyway. (in terms of efforts). Plus faster than segway and much easy to control.
Also big stations will have cycle stand already. Plus as someone already said - Segway thing would not work on crowded stations.
Also cycle may still work even for crowded station. (depends on ability of rider as well as space for cycle to move around)
Segway will need special training.... whereas most people (in general) already have learnt to ride bicycle when kids.
If cycle fails you can still drag it and carry things but if Segway fails - you cant drag it along.
To me cycle outperforms segway .. as far as the main aim is concerned.
Union science and technology minister Harsh Vardhan would not mind renaming the ministry of earth sciences (Prithvi Vigyan Mantralaya) as the 'Bharat Mata Mantralaya'.
Taking a cue from one of the presenters at a function to mark the 144th foundation day of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here on Tuesday, Vardhan-who is the minister of earth sciences (MoES) as well - said if the MoES secretary (M Rajeevan) agreed, there would be no harm ("koi burai nahin hai") in calling the ministry as 'Bharat Mata Mantralaya'.
