Don't think so. As you said in our chat, guaranteeing updates and delivering it on time are two different things. The updates for Android One devices would be much faster. Asus should have partnered with Google for this for Android One.

Moreover Mi A2 is pretty close to launch.
 
i am going to say that Nokia 7 plus would end up getting under 20K in a matter of months if not weeks 😛 get that.
 

well. that's something that was mentioned on android one support pages. but it still sort of has worked well wrt android one devices. the promise of two years of updates is from google even if the updates are coming from the manufacturer 😀
i mean there must be a reason for Nokia to push the android one branding for the nokia 7 plus model. it's not like their own version of android and updates are very different from a typical android one device.
Asus on the other hand... seems like a big gamble.
