If your purchased item is not as described, is defective or damaged, you may inspect at your doorstep and instantly return the item. Inspect and Buy is a safe and convenient way to buy goods online where you can verify if product you ordered are as described before accepting them.

Inspect and Buy eligible products are available for open box inspection at doorstep. If the product is not as described, you can reject the delivery, in which case the entire amount will be credited back to you within 5-7 working days, if you had already paid for the item. If you had booked the item using a Cash on Delivery (CoD) option, you may pay only if you decide to accept the item. Inspect and Buy eligible products can be returned up to 2 days after delivery.

All phones above Rs 5000 are nowadays being asked to inspect at delivery by amazon courier guys. I guess it extends to all electronic devices. Not sure about other items though.

so based on what @Navjot Singh said... amazon delivery guy would ask you to open the package and inspect the product if the value of the item is more than Rs. 5000.

downside is... of course 2 day return policy (would not apply to mobiles and some other categories i guess).

All Inspect and Buy eligible products can be purchased with free delivery.
In case of return after delivery, free return pick up would be provided up to 2 days.
A to Z claims do not apply on Inspect and Buy products.
what is a to z claim? :D

do damage goods replacements also count as claim or just returns ?

if there is 75 claims limit, there should be an option to see how many claims I have filed/won/loss

i suppose a chat with amazon support might clarify the thing. too lazy to do it right now. would try tomorrow when i am less tired. :D unless someone does it first.
