Just curious if folks here have managed to get kyc etc done through totp generated through maadhaar app instead of biometric.
As per my understanding, totp is equivalent to biometric authentication. I could be wrong though.
 
totp is not equivalent to biometric. Its equivalent to SMS OTP.

You dont need to wait for SMS with TOTP.

TOTP is nothing but something similar to Google authenticator. (for 2 factor auth)
 
ugh. is there any offline retailer that is accepting totp instead of biometric?
 
Oh btw ... the eKYC thing that you are talking about is a different thing then TOTP.

eKYC generates a ZIP file which you can share with service provider which they can verify in someway (i dont know what way - as i have never used eKYC)

You can share eKYC via email or whatsapp (using share option that your mobile has)
