PayPal India Pay Launching This Week - Can It Stand Out?

PayPal India Pay will act as a payment aggregator for a number of services in the country. They will work with banks and merchants to facilitate digital payment services for their customers. Paypal will not operate as a digital wallet, but will use the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) infrastructure via banks to facilitate their domestic payments model. PayPal will work primarily on buyer security and safety, which is going to be a huge positive for the Indian consumers.

They already have proxy control over payment gateway called CashFree - Your Complete Payments Kit from some time.

Checked MakeMyTrip mobile app. Could not find it. @Sushubh - Why one should use PayPal in India over existing payment methods and service providers (Razorpay,CCAvenue)?.

so... when you login to your paypal india account (and you have not provided you pan card number), paypal loads the sidebar notification asking you to complete the steps.
pan card is only required if you want to accept money in your account. pan card is not needed to make payments using it. yet, this sidebar is pushed in your face.
i asked paypal support why this sidebar message cannot be discussed. they claimed that this has been mandated by government regulations.
idiocy all around. deleted my account.
