Guys there is no controversy here. Its plain and simple, it was an ad and the advertiser is liable to actions on it. Publications are only liable to the articles they cover with a byline attached to it.

Same goes for TV ads, when companies are fined for misleading ads, channels are blacklisted or banned or fined.

Thats not how it works. Any newspaper with at least medium[1] circulation needs to get certified via Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry, which gets them in the list of papers which will run all or some of the govt. ads, these includes ads from various departments, various ministries, and govt. funded orgs.

If you really want to stir a controversy, you think govt. can afford to boycott leading newspapers?

airtel doesnt work in 3rd party apps because airtel has to pay certain amount to every incoming recharge from other apps. so airtel stopped working on other apps to save on these fees. thats what im told by airtel guy
 
duh. they pay commission to every road side vendor. so does other operators. no one operates recharging services for social service.
