There are more ways to hack a modem even with remote management is disabled. As a rule of thumb, it is the responsibility of the modem vendor to update their software (that is usually linux). Unfortunately, most don't do it, leaving the modems vulnerable to certain types of attacks, even with remote management is disabled!

I have this dlink DSL-2520U_Z3 modem If i disable remote management my dns changes to some unknown dns hence i have enabled it but denied access to everything in the router.There is a backdoor bug in this modem and this is the only way i can stop this dns change
