He informed the consumers to write down the Aadhaar card number and cellular phone number near the meter on their premises so that the persons issuing the electricity bills would feed them accordingly.

Finance bill made Aadhar compulsory only for finance related subjects.

The above is completely illegal as matter not related to finance is still under supreme court.

But I guess - it wouldnt make much difference.

I was talking about the thing where one govt dept asks adhaar to be publicly displayed while another asks it to be kept secret.

People are willy nilly giving away their adhaar numbers - be it be telephone companies/telecallers/gas connections etc
