New STB from Tata Sky?

Hello,

Has Tata Sky launched a new STB recently (past 5 months)? How is it better than the one from early last year. I purchased the recording one in November of 2015 or something. I'm getting a new 4K TV so just wondering if I should upgrade STB or not.

There is no 4k channel. I am using 4K set top box and it has been a total waste of money. The stupid box can't even upscale GUI to 4K.
All the menus appear blurred.

If Tata Sky+ Transfer is the STB you purchased then it is the last new hardware which came out in late 2015. There has been no new STB from TS since last two years. 'Transfer' is nothing more than TS+ HD beaming content from TV (STB) to your mobile phone. It uses the local Wi-Fi network to do that. As of now the STB is available at the price of Rs. 9300.
