The Law Commission of India has invited suggestions and views of public and stakeholders regarding legalising betting and gambling.
This comes pursuant to a direction of the Supreme Court in the BCCI judgment, in which the Court had directed the Law Commission to consider legalisation of betting.
The appeal issued by Law Commission today states that since gambling is closely associated with betting, both issues have to be considered together.
