Faux pas or ambush? Vivo livid over red carpet to Cook - Bangalore Mirror -
The cameras were focussed on him for a substantial period of time and he was interviewed alongside IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla by the official broadcaster. What is more, the commentators kept repeating that the Apple boss is in the house. Some of them even tweeted about it.

Cook said all good things about the league and famously declared that he got hooked to the IPL, but experts say the visit and the subsequent coverage could amount to ambush as Apple is a rival brand of Vivo. Vivo pays Rs 85 crore a year for title sponsorship rights.

that's the thing. indian brands do not focus on the primary factor. at least get your brand ambassadors to use your products at least in public. forget others. brands like coke and nike are very particular about this internationally.

anyways... i was referring to cases that i cannot locate right now... adidas sponsoring an event. they banned all public branding that included the logo of nike in the stadium. remember reading about it.
