At least they can do a Speed test or latency test but i doubt these uncles know what latency is.

No 5G Trial spectrum allocated in Chennai so it's most probably DSS over existing 4G spectrum which will barely give 100Mbps if they do a speed test

An update from the Govt on 5G:

5G deployment to begin in August-September; roll out to commence in 20-25 cities, towns by year-end: Ashwini Vaishnaw

Not sure if year end means calendar year end of financial year end. Launch in Tier 1 and some Tier 2 cities I guess. Better than expected. Obviously providers would raise their tariffs at least marginally after paying spectrum fees. Airtel seems to be going crazy with their tariff increases. With pvt. 5G networks allowed I doubt telecom Cos will jump enthusiastically into 5G just yet. Interesting times ahead.

Some people are getting 5G signal here at our campus for just a fraction of a second they are doing 5g trials here.

It's do tarfa khel... At one side government is blocking Huawei & ZTE for data reasons & tension with china. But at the same time allowing trash phone brands Mi, Oppo, Vivo etc. List is long... Adware filled junks to be sold in Indian market... Either way... By Phones or antennas they're connecting to... China has everything... I wish I could question this directly to those so called "rule makers". 50% job is done now what about rest 50%?

TBH I trust Huawei more than Mi or other trash 🤣

I dont know 5G capabilities but as all students have 1gig lan port in theor hostel rooms, people rarely use 5g out of the hostel rooms, so speeds are good, 300-400Mbps.
