Since last 2 to 3 days there is lot of buffering happening on Netflix so checked fast.com. Getting awfully slow speeds. Getting less than 1 Mbps.

Is any one else having the same issue? Complained to customer care but they don't seem to know about fast.com at all nor trying to fix the issue. They have standard answer, if you are getting good speed on speedtest.net then there is no issue.

Many suffer due to service outage, so right now you will get very less help i believe.

Is anyone facing this issue? fast.com shows about 6 to 10 Mpbs in the day time and 500 to 600kbps in the night time. Can't stream anything at all

There were some intermittent issues but they seem to have been resolved now. I am getting a minimum of 20 Mbps at fast.com even in the evenings.

Thanks. I was in touch with back end team for almost every day last few days. There was some issue with their routing. They mentioned they have fixed the routing issue yesterday noon.

I get about 13 to 14Mbps max during day time on my 100Mbps connection now. I used to get only 500kbps when the issue was there.

The issue is back again. Is anyone on ACT or other ISPs facing slow speeds on fast.com?

I've been getting full 100 to fast.com for a while now. Fast.com is resolving to 104.121.253.16 for me, an Akamai server. Haven't used netflix in a while so can't say how it is actual.

Code:

Yup. Check the tracert. I used to get just 15mbps on fast earlier. This was a recent change.

4 5 ms 5 ms 6 ms broadband.actcorp.in [202.83.26.1]
5 4 ms 4 ms 2 ms 14.141.145.89.static-Bangalore.vsnl.net.in [14.141.145.89]
6 4 ms 3 ms 3 ms 172.31.232.34
7 4 ms 3 ms 3 ms 219.65.110.102.static-bangalore.vsnl.net.in [219.65.110.102]
8 3 ms 2 ms 4 ms a104-121-253-16.deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com [104.121.253.16]

Same as yours. I am getting less than 1Mbps speed on fast.com. No idea why.

How about google? I've been getting high pings to 8.8.8.8 for a few days. Usually it's 8ms. Now all the way to ~250. ACT routing is always wonky.

Only different I see is the 5th IP... it is going through 14.141.145.89 for me and
14.141.145.197 for you

Pings to 8.8.8.8 are high for me too. It is on an average 255ms

TraceRoute to fast.com is just to the website, not the actual servers where the speeds are checked...

Try this:

Run a speed check on fast.com and while it is running, in command prompt do a "netstat -a" command to locate any "netflix.net" kind of addresses. Then do a traceroute to one of those hosts...?

For example, I just tried traceroute to: ipv4_1.mce0.c056.fra001.ix.nflxvideo.net

I'm getting ipv4_1.lagg0.c090.sea001.ix.nflxvideo.net

I'm getting full speeds to Seattle? How's that possible?

What's your traceroute to this netflix address? Mine seems to go via an IP named "DC-E-IX" so maybe it's in france and related to that european peering thing that mumbai convergence hub just announced partnership with - maybe something is going on "back stage" and netflix will become fast in India in general soon enough?
