BSNL's operating profit jumps six-fold to Rs 3,855 cr in FY16

The increased profit has come from the mobile section, unspecified whether voice or data.
Even then, it's amazing to jump profits by 600%, when they are the only ones with UL 3G plan and good lower plans as well.
Their price cutting has paid off handsomely.

This is great news. Now let's hope they spend this money on even better infrastructure and maybe just maybe provide unlimited 4G in near future.

Should be something to do with spectrum cost/lease.
Even then, considering the mammoth size of Bsnl, it's an amazing jump.

ads are very less nowadays..... if at all, they are advertising their own services.

They are the world's most unstable ASN, mostly because they try to balance all their traffic on 10G interfaces. They need to fix their routing, add capacity and get better plans. I think even some huge content providers tried to approach them for peering, all of whom were turned away. LOL.
