Faced similar issue, in my area some bses people cut the overhead fiber. Happened 2 days ago, took 5-6 hours to fix.

Even if he provides ethernet plans on fiber please go for it.. you can finally say goodbye to these kinda headaches.

the fiber is till the pole and from there ethernet.

ok here is the thing. i can get fiber to the house. lineman was actually recommending it till a while ago. recently when i asked him, he said if poe is working stable, use it. would ask tomorrow again if he recommends getting fiber. last time i checked it would cost me 1000 bucks including cable, installation and the box at home. connection has been fairly stable over the last year or so. there are downtimes once in every couple of months but other than that it has been pretty stable so i am not even mad right now.

@Sushubh nopes but it was there. They removed it coz they introduced mac binding for fiber users who have n or ac wifi onu. Now lco procare portal has reset mac option. I guess its still present for fiber users who have onu without wifi. @igloo Can u check if u have reset mac option in ur profile on myexcitel.com

yes, i do have it. I have no wifi modem from them.

One my friend had dual band one from excitel and he didnt had rest mac option. recently he switched to no wifi one modem and now mac reset option is available for him as well.

So excitel guy seems pissed. Someone stole a lot of his equipment. Wants me to point my cctv camera on the pole for a day or two. Sad panda if this is going to be the new normal around here 😭
