Will we ever be able to purchase warranty for mobiles?

My Godrej A/C has one such facility through which we could extend the warranty by paying 4k. Will mobile phones ever have such option to safeguard it?

you can already buy extended warranty from third party companies. you can also insure them. manufacturers have little reasons to offer longer warranties as they want to sell you new products. people keep ACs and TVs for much longer than phones.

Whoever buys third party warranty extension / insurance should first READ the terms and conditions.

Terms are way too strict.

For warranty claims - most companies dont give you full amount - its a co-payment based on how many months have passed.

Older the phone lesser the money they pay.

For accident / theft insurance - "Scope" of insurance is way too less and "Exclusions" are plenty!

You will have to be "dishonest" (not tell them exactly what happened!) to prove your claim!!
