My local cablewala who has got Railwire franchise terms it as GPON. But I guess the end equipment ( Rs. 4,000 cost ) could be ONT. Anyone know what it is exactly ? I use a wired connection and the CPE looks much like a non wifi modem ( without antenna ).

@TheEvdoUser , did you got it from open market ? How did you configure it ?

Mine is entirely different. A small, black box much like old Doordarshan booster unit.

Are you using wireless ? I have their wired service.

No I got it from my LCO, though I knew about the CPE months before I took the connection.

Anyway LCO configured it... I tried the software they had and I couldn't connect to interface myself.. thet have changed many things including default access point IP and username password for devices.

A cat 6 cable runs down from CPE to my router.

I guess it can be called wireless as their last mile delivery is wireless.
