Hey, My relative works in a private concern which is selling the broadband hardware to BSNL. BSNL is working with two industries, one @ Chennai which imports goods from CHINA and the other one , probably @ Bangalore which is importing goods from USA. I came to know from my relative that BSNL is buying the modems from these 2 industries @ an unit price of Rs.1200 +/- , after all the currency convertions. But BSNL is selling those modems to the subscribers @ Rs.2000/flat rate. This is just TOO MUCH. What u ppl feel about this? P.S. Rs.1200 is for the modem and its accessories like the telephone cable, ADSL splitter, blah blah.....

Do you know the unit price of a CDMA handset purchased by Reliance from LG is just Rs. 63/- (rupees sixty three only).

Thats common. If the unit price is 1200 they will sell us at 2000 and thats in standard with the industry

An Indian company supplies Nokia the charger assembly for their mobile phone handsets at a cost of 22 cents(twenty two cents) per unit.Compare it with the cost of Nokia charger assembly you purchase from the market.

well, they're cashing in on their "brand names"...for which they spend million of dollars in just advertisements 😀

Yes most of the funds goes in advertising....else how do they afford the bollywood stars, the cricket team and many other celebs

Just for your infoWhen u see a 300 ML bottle of a cold drink be assured that the cost of the concentrate ( syrup ), water, gas ( fizz ), and bottling exp is barely 2/3 bucks. The cost of advertisement is close to 4/6 bucks and so the price on th shelf is 6-8 bucks. In USA cigarette cos contribute heavily to a Fubd which fights litigation on behalf of all cigarette cos. That amount is said to secretive and HUGE.

Its not 2/3 bucks but the whole drink inside the bottle doesnt cost more than 80 paise....

See, here we are,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,80 paise for the paani and bottling cost added and then in house costs for running a co......just 80 paisa. Then advertisement costing 5/6 bucks....................
