I very well understand that this is fun intended
...but i'm sure that there are at least a few cops who are still honest & loosing that hard earned money does matter.
I know how it feels when someone just hacks your bank account & skimps off that hard earned money
hi alli had a axis bank titanium rewards debit card
all these months i was happy since amazon.com used to accept them
but now all of a sudden i got a chip based titanium rewards debit card from the bank and blocking my old card saying that since i have made international transaction rbi has issued a mandate to replace all such cards to chip based cards for international transactionnow i am so much worried whether this new chip based card will be accepted by amazon.com...??btw the card even has a magnetic strip alsoplease help me out ....has anyone used the chip based debit card with amazon.com transactions..??will it work as before..??please help me please
I am in no position to say. Different banks have different policies. Like my Standard Chartered debit card works fine on Google Play. My Yes Bank debit card doesn't. So unless you try it for yourself, there are no guarantees if it would work or not. As I said above... EMV system is mostly designed to ensure safety in over the counter payments as you have to punch in a password on each transaction. Similar to SecureCode etc. online for credit cards.
as its a RBI mandate, very soon all banks would need to replace the normal Debit Cards with EMV chip Based cards.
for ICICI i've already got a SMS that new EMV card would be sent as per Regulatory Guidelines in 30 days.
then I got service request received for chip debit card and it would be processed in 17 days, not sure why specifically its 17 days.
I am sure this shouldn't affect your international transaction however I would not be surprised if this affects your "Online International Shopping" as it would not be the First time of such problems with Indian Bank Cards.
