does replacing the username and password in BSNL modem with other users username give us the speeds of that user ? has anyone tried it on ftth ? . Thanks

No, using someone else's username and password won't give you their speed since in the back-end your port is linked to your account and their account to there own port so it simply won't authenticate even with the right credentials, and yes i have tried it 😛

If BSNL doesn't have port binding enabled then it would work. But, just like with DSL, Fiber ONTs are also provisioned to the user plan speed, so if say you have a 50Mbps plan and used a 100Mbps user ID, you would still get only 50Mbps speed.

Edit:- well, there you have it, it would not work due to the port binding. 😛

@raman07 : here is the trace from airtel if that matters. 😛

The IP seems to be of Singapore there was routing issue to various Singapore servers including AWS on few ip address series which we used to get allotted dynamically. I was mailing them about it since past one month+, I re checked AWS pings today and the issue seems to have been solved on other dynamic IP address series as well.
I will tracert to this server and post results of different dynamic IP address series which I get allotted by morning to see if all pings on Singapore are within 70-80ms range.

The ping on this seems to be okay for me, but AWS pings again increased to 350+, it was okay last night. Just try to turn off your ONT for 15 mins or so, if you can get 59 series IP address, all pings seem to be fine on that. Currently I have 103 series, I will restart and also post results of 59 series in a while.

Trace using 59 series IP address-
