Warranty forToshiba 2TB external hard disk from Australia

So a relative of mine sent toshiba 2TB external hard disk to me. Is the warrenty applicable in india? Package is sealed and I dont' want to remove it to check the documentation.

Don't think so. Warranty of drives are strictly region specific. I remember one of a friend facing an issue with a WD drive he bought from the US; warranty was not honored here in India.

WD gives world wide warranty, When you check it on wd portal it will show out of region. And as per norms they will honour 1 out of region HDD in a year. ( but actually i have rma'ed 2 or 3 disk without issues)
