Hi, I don't know if its the right section to post my query. If its not admin pls move it to appropriate section. Here is my problem I have a 6 year old PC and its causing lots problem due to power surge/fluctuation(?) I've changed 4 Hard disks, 2 modems (3rd one on the way) in these years and now my monitor is giving problem. The problem is I can't use UPS because in my home there's no power cut (yep, I have 24/7 power and that's my problem 😉) I've already changed 2 UPS's but both died due to no discharging of battery. Now I'm thinking of buying an voltage stabilizer for my PC would it stop any further damage?

you probably need a new psu. ups should have prevented power surge on the machine. though depends upon the quality. it is never a bad idea to have a ups even if it does in 2 years time. small price to pay for long life of computer components. if you do have 24x7 power supply, getting a good stablizer might work as well. there are some designed specifically for computers though they might cost more than a cheapo ups.

I'm ready to spend little more on good stabilizer than a cheap UPS as it gives long time protection. But wanna know will it work with PC's? would you suggest a good voltage stabilizer?

I used to own one from Bhurji branded stabilizer many years ago. Was solid. Cannot locate much about them online today.

I also have the same problem, if any one know the solution please reply me.
