Hi friends, Vodafone is holding my Porting code since yesterday till their Retention team calls me up. i was at TATA Docomo store yesterday to place porting request to move to their network but unspite of me sending the msg i never got reply from Vodafone. spoke several times to cc but they maintain that PUC code is sent by TRAI and not by any operator. TATA docomo claimed that "Sir operators hold the PUC code Msg till thier retention team calls up and convince the customer, once customer is not convinced then they release the Msg from their server" i also felt convinced since i remebered when i shifted my famly number to Airtel from BSNL , BSNL guys didnt send me the code till next day morning when Retention team from BSNL called. Msg came immediatly after he disconnected the line. seems like same fashion of Vodafone too, but today being sunday they will hold my code till tom when retention guy will call.

They are playing games with you for sure. After seeing your comment, I had casually sent the porting SMS. Got the code in less than a minute.

Got to a Vodafone store and leave your manners at the door. Shouting is the only thing that gets results.

^ If you have been to a Vodafone Store, you will know going to a store doesn't help either. There are pretty machines sitting there who speak exactly the same way as they do on the phone support. Exactly, and I am not exaggerating. They will apologise but won't be able to do anything at all.

I agree, that's why I suggested that the OP raise his voice. Shouting loudly, abhorrent as it may be, is the easiest way to break through the first level of useless customer service drones and get to a manager (or some middle-level person who has more than two IQ points).
