India Post Updates

Really? did these eCommerce sites really generated so much of delivery backlog or is it just a hoopla ? :whew:

Atleast the indian post guy will not ask us to come down and take delivery. 😉

EDIT: I remember how during Christmas time Amazon US shows order by date if you need it by Christmas. Very well managed.

i do not see why they would deliver product late to create a hype that they are overloaded with old orders :speechless:

pepperfry did show flowcharts on their products showcasing which products would be delivered before diwali earlier this month. Amazon and flipkart also does the same when they clearly show delivery dates on product pages. which is essentially the same thing.

So maybe they really made a killing this festival seasons. All those senior citizens I find gossiping in the park about how deeply discounted items are available online seems to have really converted in sales. Good for the economy, lets see how soon these guys can clear their backlogs, I really hate waiting 10+ days for a package to arrive.

i placed my order on 23rd October and got an estimate delivery date of 7th November .
Luckily i got my package delivered earlier on 27th October. 🙂

and here is a thing about my experience with India post. the big packages i ordered from Amazon were delivered safely through them. But when i ordered small packages like earphones, it got stolen during transit 🙁 and they delivered an empty package to me >_< . (Just Google 'India Post Missing items' )
I never had this experience with FedEx, blue dart or any other private courier in my place.

I suppose such issues also seem to have elevated with other courier partners of e commerce sites due to poor organization and direction.
I had ordered a Xolo phone for 12.4k from flipkart last thursday via credit card.on the same night product was shipped via ecom prepaid (tracking number was received by mail )
Until yesterday (monday) morning 10AM product status was shown as baggage complete(after being sent by fk to ecom ) at delhi or something.
Order was to be delivered at chennai.

However at 11 am I get a message stating "our courier partner could not deliver your order,so we have cancelled it and initated refund bla bla" and a mail which states "thank you for choosing to buy one of the top selling products on fk,however due to excessive demand and to ensure everyone get an equal opportunity we have cancellex your order".
This was the first time I ordered that product.
This is pure nonsense..product was shipped 3 days ago and they do this.
And moreover flipkart page still doesn't show that product to be out of stock or anything.

Sorry for offtopic but yeah all orders on fk too seem to show aj estimated delivery of atleast 10 days even to a metro n worst thing being cancellation after payment due to issues on their end.

And quality with private player has gone down too, here is a shocking story, I received a package from Bluedart day before, the guy called me from ground floor (i'm no 4th floor), here is the conversation:

Guy: Sir aap ka package aaya
Me: toh ?
Guy: Mera bag kaafi bhari hai ?
Me: toh ? use the lift

I hung up.

then he came to me, he had a big bag with lot of packages, like most of them have. Here is the conversation we had:

Me: Aapne mujhe nicke se kyu phone kiya ?
Guy: Sir bag kaafi bhari tha
Me: Toh aapne kya socha mein nicke aake delivery lunga ? Aapko agar delivery karne mein takleef hai toh aap package wapas lejaiye.

So he quietly handed me over the package and went away, no sorry nothing.

Read it now. Even I live on the fourth floor. Been 4 years at this house and never one courier guy has shown interest in coming up. I have stopped bothering or waiting for them to come up. I go down to collect all my deliveries. Heh.

For misplacing package, India Post asked to pay Rs 15,000 as compensation to customer | The Indian Express

During the hearing, forum presided by P L Ahuja said, “India Post should have at least conducted a departmental inquiry and fixed the responsibility of the delinquent. Rather, they simply took shelter under Section 6 of the Indian Post Office Act, 1898. This act clearly points towards deficiency in service on the part of India Post.” Thus, India Post was ordered to pay Rs 10,000 as compensation and Rs 5,000 towards litigation costs within a period of 30 days at 9 per cent interest.

Hopefully this would set a precedent.

i think superfan folks need to file the lawsuit not me. 🙂 india post lost their package. i did not lose anything.
