Tikona WiBro issues + Ruckus router IP, login details and configuration

HI,

I have recently taken Tikona WiBro connection in Pune and am having following issues and requirements. Please somebody help me.
The antenna/access point is on top of my building only.
I have been provided with a Ruckus 2211 wireless router.

1] I have taken 150 Kbps unlimited plan and the speeds I am getting is really poor. Also the speed keeps fluctuating and sometimes is so bad that I cannot even open a webpage.
2] Router placement is a big problem. I only get some speed if the router is placed near the window. Even the antenna provided with the router is hanged outside window but does not help much.
3] Wireless speed is even worst then what I get through ethernet cable attached between router and my PC

4] I need to know how can I login to the router provided to me and what is the IP address, user ID and password for router login. A step by step info will be of great help.
5] Can we replicate the configuration of this router to any other wireless router obtained from market
6] How can we change the MAC address of a wireless router.

Please help me as I am in a fix at the moment.

Do you have a Tikona connection or do you want to use neighbors?How could you not know you're user id and password.didn't they sms it to you?

I am not trying to use anybody else's connection. I don't think you understood what is my query. I want IP address, username and password for router and not internet connection. With those details I need to login to my own router. I have my internet username and password with which i access net.
 
Why not trouble the customer service??

simple...they have pathetic customer service and also as they have changed the default ip's which are set by the manufacturing company (ruckus) in this case, they won't be ready to help out.
 
So now the question is should the ruckus 2211 have an ip address?
I ask because the 2211 isn't really a router,more like a repeater or signal booster.

In your case the wireless router in located just below the transmission antenna. That means your wireless router is getting secondary signals (reflected ones) and not the primary one resulting poor signal strength.
2] Router placement is a big problem. I only get some speed if the router is placed near the window. Even the antenna provided with the router is hanged outside window but does not help much.
May be you will have to lay CAT 5 cable from your access point DB box to your PC to get better signal strength.
3] Wireless speed is even worst then what I get through ethernet cable attached between router and my PC

Your Ruckus 2211 wireless router comes pre-configured from TIKONA WiBro service. You won't be able to change the settings/configurations yourself.

Unless you know the TIKONA main server details like primary / secondary DNS addresses, your wireless router log-in IP, gateway IP address, it is of no use to buy wiresless router from market and configure yourself.6] How can we change the MAC address of a wireless router.

Your Ruckus 2211 wireless router comes pre-configured from TIKONA WiBro service. You won't be able to change the settings/configurations yourself.
I am sure this can be done if we are able to login and even if its pre-configured there must be some way to login. I know they must have changed the default router IP of 192.168.1.1
Thats the reason I want to know the router IP they have set so that I can login to router. Once that is done, we can read the configuration and even change/modify

Well it can be, as if we are able to login to my router, I might get all the information required for a new router from martket to be configured.

Do you want to know their trade secret by wanting to know the router IP, log-in id & password to TIKONA wireless router? I think you asking for too much.:grin: Except for TIKONA service engineer or a person in similar capacity, no body will be able to help you. Go and bribe him to get whatever info you want..:imbored:
 
I am not sure how is this a trade secret. Even if we know all thif info, we still need a valid username and password for availing their internet services.We just cannot use their internet services without the internet username and password. This login is different from a router login 🙂

H e hase given me his user id and p/w..i get tikona signals.. even in my flat.. other frnd of mine.. has the rukkus router.. so he gave me that as he is not using it..I have downloaded the soft ware from tikona website.. I f i am at frnds place.. i am able to connect to the tikona with my wifi (os :windows 7).However i am not able to access the same at my flat.. plz guide..:O
