i have ghostery addon for firefox which blocks adware or scriptshere the the scripts facebook connectchitikainfoliknsgoogle adsensegoogle analyticsadmin plz remove facebook atleast.
 
you are free to block what you want to block. i have a site to run. a server to pay for. and keep it active on social networks.
 
admin is right. atleast we are not forced to see the ads and are free to block.i remember on gameknot site, they blocked me because they detected i was blocking their ads. what was unfair that even after blocking my account they keep sending me reminders to play tournaments and keep sending me reminders to get paid account.
 
I would say block whatever you don't want to see, considering we have loads of flexibility today being offered by the browsers. I browse this site pratically 100% ad -free, sometimes with a sense of guilt 😛
 
hehe. i browse the forum with JS disabled on opera. but on chrome it's the regular version that a regular web user would get.

ah well i use opera with JS off pretty much all the time. so it's not that big of a deal.

and i cannot click on the ads myself so it does not matter i get to see them or not. 😀
 
One Question- Does the revenue from ads on this site pay for the site and do you make a profit?
 
FTR, I browse ads and all. After ~14 years of fairly constant net use, I've trained my brain to tune them out anyway 😉
 
frankly i am still surprised that 1% of the visitors still click on ads.

I'd rather just give you money or co-lo space, but that might create bias. @admin how much does ad-space go for on your network of sites?
 
as you can see i am not selling direct ads on the forum. tata docomo once contacted me but they wanted paperwork and other complicated stuff. i just rely on google largely. and take whatever they throw my way. 🙂

Maybe we can put our ads on GOOG and limit the domains somehow... you used to be able to do that, didn't you? Been a while since I explored Google ads.
 
hehe. if you really want to advertise here, there is no need to pay the commission to google 😉 i block domains i dont want on this site. though there is an option to just list domains i want on this site. but that is more hard work. and yeah, you can i believe tell adwords to just advertise on a particular domain if you want to.
