The Newsroom is an American drama television series created by Aaron Sorkin that premiered on HBO on June 24, 2012. The series chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at the fictional Atlantis Cable News (ACN) channel. It features an ensemble cast including Jeff Daniels as anchor Will McAvoy, who, together with his staff set out to put on a news show "in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal entanglements." Other cast members include Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Dev Patel, Olivia Munn, Thomas Sadoski, and Sam Waterston.

It is available for free viewing on YouTube but not open to Indian visitors.

The early reviews have been mixed in the media. But, Aaron Sorkin can be polarizing like that. I took this off my list but I think I'll check out the pilot sometime. I liked Studio 60 on the sunset strip.
 
I just saw it and I must say I really liked it. Fast paced and entertaining. They did underuse Dev Patel in the first episode though!Recommended to at least check it out if nothing more.
 
saw the first three episodes. loved what i saw. 😀

You have goto to watch other EPs.

This is the best written/directed show of 2012. The pace of the show is super.
 

well i prefer to have more than one episode when i start watching something. i plan to do the same with dexter though it is going to be tough waiting 😀
 
I kinda like it but I feel it's falling down slowly but surely. Epsiode 4 is going to suck!
 
lol. you gotta understand that some people are likely to find issues with even the best of television content. i mean we have people here that think dexter should have ended in season 4. californication should have ended long time ago. i enjoy both of the shows in the latter seasons as well and am waiting for the next one. they might not be as good as the first couple of seasons but at least they are better than watching other shows which are nowhere in the same quality levels.
 
And you know what else is good about this show? Unlike Rome, deadwood, True blood and other HBO shows this show is not driven by violence, drugs, sex, lust or nudity. It is drama in its purest form. I really hope it stays this way throughout the season.
