I was planning to move to TS from Dish TV. But I had cancelled my plan as I saw the list of missing channels TS. It was a shocker. But my dealer told me that by Diwali, TS will telecast more channels than Dish TV and Videocon D2H, including FM channels. Is this True? Any idea to anybody? Please help. :confuse:

Haha... Either dealer is stupid or he thinks customers are. Tata Sky doesn't have a magic wand to suddenly get 70 more channels under its hood.

It is a time, when no promises can be trusted.....the best policy is, wait for these 6-8 days until Diwali. I am doing that, thats why i am suggesting!! Coz its always the best thing to do to observe ourselves what is happening.Btw, if i had to actually opt for Tata Sky, purely based on the channels offered, then i wouldnt have waited. Coz most of the missing channels arent that important to me - except for Ten Cricket & Ten Action......So its your call ultimately....if you need those channels, then better wait - just a matter of few days.

Thanks for alert. You mean Tata Sky has 70 channels less than Dish TV and D2H? Then on what basis it calls itself a premium service?

though dish tv has more channels the cc is the worst one can get. i wonder why threadstarter donno the simple fact that dish tv uses dd direct plus signals for extra 60 channels.

Aakash....Even he is not happy with the service. he is planning to move to other provider as well!! And thats why he has created this thread to know which provider has most channels!

ok his user id doesnt suggest that. and little reasecrh if done no need of channel list also, d2h is giving more channels than any dth at reasonable price. after my subscription with dishtv ends iam gonna throw the dishtv stb in dustbin and purchase d2h.

260+ channels @rs 295 only whears iam paying Rs 325 and still miss neo channels, utv channels in dish tv 🙁

Aakash....After listening to everyone's reaction on different DTH players, i now feel that d2h is the clear winner in this time.....just 1 thing thats lacking currently is - the HD services, and they have made it clear that the launch is there for sure in a short time!! So, i think u have taken the right decision in selecting d2h....In fact, even i am just waiting for that launch - i want to switch over from my Cable TV to d2h.

even airtel is gud. all channels are for Rs 360.

360 pm....but what does it cost on per year basis?? That would be a better comparison level - as compared to 3200 per year on d2h......all channels, including their Active Music + 3 SVOD Channels - dont know what is it actually, but just know that they claim they have it!!

All Dish TV users can get the benefit of those TPs. End users don't need to think where it is coming from.

Suppose you are Airtel subscriber and they are providing you GPRS service with 2 Mbps bandwidth. Consider Idea subscriber who gets GPRS service with 5 Mbps bandwidth, provided that Idea borrows some infrastructure for higher bandwidth from other party. In this case bandwidth is important to the end user, not the source where it is coming from. Hope you understood.

i understand but wat is the use of so many channels when a particular co cannot give proper replies to its customers?

Does it really matter to the end customer whose signals are being used or what deals the DTH operator has with the broadcaster? All a viewer needs is the ability to watch his favourite channels. It doesn't matter who provides it, what compression is used and the like.
