Tata Sky DTH getting Colors HD from October 8 2012

Seriously? Who wants to see colors in HD? For that matter star plus and zee tv also. Would have been great of they had added movies now hd instead. By the way are they removing a worthy channel from HD bouquet to accommodate this?

I have received a call from Tata Sky customer care executive today afternoon and she informed that the Colors HD Channel will be available on Tata Sky from 8th Oct, 2012 onwards in the HD Gold Pack. Another important thing she informed that there will be some changes in the subscription of HD Gold Pack. From 8th Oct, 2012 onwards, only those channel that are available in your base package (south sports, dhamaal mix, supreme sports kids, grand sports) will be made available in HD in the HD Gold Pack. For eg. if you are subscribed to HD Gold Pack alongwith your base package Dhamaal Mix Pack, then 4 channels viz ESPN HD, Star Cricket HD, Star Movies HD, Star World HD will not be available for you to watch in HD. These channels will be available in your HD Gold Pack for you to watch only in case you have subscribed to these channels in SD either on al-carte basis or on add-on pack basis.

Tata Sky clarifies that this move is being done in order to keep the pricing of HD Gold Pack intact at Rs.100/- per month. She further informed that Tata Sky has to pay approx Rs.30-40 per HD channel to its broadcaster, therefore if they add more HD channel to its HD Gold Pack without this move then its price will be increased and the same shall be available at around Rs.175-200 which they do not want to do as they are not in favour of putting more pressure on the customers.

Lets see how does customers response to their upcoming strategy as stated above. :eagerness:
Just when I was thinking to go for TataSky HD with lowest base pack (without Sports channels) + HD Gold Pack (with HD Sports Channels), this new strategy would now make me think again 🙂
I guess my Airtel HD is good where I have added lowest base pack + All HD channels which is coming around 350.

Got a call from Tata Sky representative from Chd. that from 8th colors HD will be added, but HD pack price will remain rs. 100/- for a long duration whether they have 11 HD channel or more in future,but SD subscription to view any HD channels are compulsory...!!for eg: If i sub to DHAMAAL MIX PACK+ENG MOVIES+HD PACK i will be able to view only those HD channels which are also avail in my SD pack,so STAR CRICKET,ESPN HD,STAR WORLD HD will not be avail until i have them is my SD pack......

I got call from ts customer care today and they said that from 8 th October 2012 they will remove all hd channels instead of adding 🙂

I have been with TS for more than 6 years and out of thos 6 years i have opted for MEga Pack for 4 yrs...from yesterday i have moved to :1. South Sports Pack2. Addons - HD Pack3. English Movie pack4. Alacarte - ESPN, Ten Sports & NDTV Good timesCurrently i am paying Rs. 395 PM....

But y r they calling the users? Its not the first time they r adding any HD channel ..I never got any call for any of the new channel which got added in past ..
