But, I'm guessing this 500MB is @ 3.5G speed. How much does this cost?

remains to be seen what packages verizon would offer to iPhone customers. no details out yet.
there are strong rumors that 30 dollar unlimited plan would be there. unlimited 3g for less than 1500 rupees. 😛 on verizon's cdma network which is said to be very nice. it sucks that cdma service providers are considered second grade here in india.
