I feel sorry for SaharaShri Subroto Roy ... battling it out from all sides with BCCI, SEBI etc to name a few 😉

Just realized BCCI runs Cricket in India like I run this forum 😀
Exactly. My way or no way 😀
BCCI has banned several people/organisation if they fail to agree with them. it includes Kapil Dev, Kiran More (for ICL), ZEE, Lalit Modi. Sahara seems new addition to the list 🙂

Personally, it was not so smart of Sahara to even try for sponsorship & it makes no sense that BCCI even accepted the bid initially. I mean, when you have parties in litigation , whats the point of new business relationships/deal

Yup. They should get out and spend their money elsewhere. Better avenues are there.

So, we should see the "new" kit with the NZ series which begins in Jan 2014. Tomorrow might be the last day we may see India in Blue with Sahara on it 😀

Yet another slap to Sahara.Source: The Times of IndiaThe Supreme Court on Monday issued contempt notices to Sahara group chief Subrata Roy and two others for allegedly threatening an Enforcement Directorate official probing alleged illegal financial deals of the group, including some relating to the 2G Scam.

What the Title Sponsorship gives us is the name on the jersey, which is a very different asset. So now we can put an ad and also logo on the jersey. So in my mind, the way we are using it is that the jersey will be used to make the Star brand more salient in our viewer’s minds. Approximately 100 or more matches will be played in this period.
We would be using Star brands, and it could be Star Sports, Star Plus or Life OK, which could find its presence on the Indian jersey once our sponsorship commences. We would like to build our brand in a very effective way using this association. When Sahara sponsored the Indian team, it never put any money on television. But, we believe that the combination of putting money on television and sponsoring the jersey could be a great innovation to build stronger brands. We will get a multiplier with television. When the jersey has a Star Plus logo, viewers will also be informed about Star Plus shows and what the channel stands for.

I just wish they don't put serial names as well 😀
Your wish might be a little too late.

I know. Because recent India-WI series was known as Star Plus series, and branded on theme of Mahabharat serial running on Star Plus channel.
Next I guess we could see "Ye Rishta..." or "Diya aur Baati" written on Team Jersey :nonchalance:

Absolute monopoly this. They removed pune warriors and then SEBI comes knocking on Sahara and now BCCI disqualifies Sahara. Apparently Sahara put in a bigger bid than STAR but BCCI chose star instead.

I think Sahara-SEBI and Sahara-BCCI are totally independent cases with no relation between them. Sahara is on receiving ends in both cases, but their past deeds could also be reason for their troubles.

Also it made sense for BCCI to reject their bid (their "lawyers" also advised them so) despite the higher bid - the lesser sense was in them accepting the bid for consideration in the 1st place.

Absolutely , no sense in sahara bidding for the rights unless they have got no self-respect and wanted more humiliation from BCCI.

It's surprising that their legal team even submitted the bid to bcci

Sahara submitted bid in the last min claiming many former cricketers urged Subrata Roy to continue their presence in Indian cricket.
However entire thing looks fishy. BCCI rejecting saharas' bid in the last min ..BCCI removing pune warriors and Govt suddenly on the back of sahara real estates.
