ISP
Jiofiber 150 Mbps
Ex: Airtel vFiber 24 Mbps
So I had a D-Link ADSL 2750U. It's dead. No warranty. Will replace it.
Requirements:
1) I used my D Link as a modem+router. So should I Buy a modem+router combo or separate devices?(see point 3 below)
2) I already have a Repeater ( this one: Netgear WN3000RP Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender). Would like to use it along with the new one, so that I can get connectivity in far off places from the original router.
3) Using my new router over wired connections ( like my old pc) is rare, but let's say for an hour per month. So should I buy the router and modem separate? (see point 1 above).
4) I got a FUPtel 2 MBPS plan fyi.
5) Budget about 4k for the router+modem, or 5k for separate router and modem.

Suggestions?

Any suggestions @x720?
Anyone else?

You can consider TP-Link W8968 Wireless ADSL Router. I've been using this with my BSNL broadband since a few months and it works great. I guess even @x720 would recommend the same 😀

TP-LINK TD-W8968 300 Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2 Modem Router - TP-LINK : Flipkart.com
Alright, will check it out. How old is your piece? And how has its after sales been(if you used it)?
Yep. Considering you have a repeater, W9868 is the safe bet.

But, given your budget you can afford to treat yourself [emoji14]
Lol. Can suggest something better than the above, and still in my budget? (the treat [emoji14])
I'll recommend separate adsl modem n wireless router. Like it that way.

Why? Is it technically better?

Had bought it last September, so around 7 months I guess. As far as I've heard their after sales is pretty good. They have a service centre in Lamington Road in Mumbai which is like 20 mins ride from my work place.

What x720 said plus it's future proof as most router have 3yrs warranty and you never know what next in Internet, i have shifted from adsl(mtnl) to evdo(mts) to now ethernet (hathway) with docsis coming soon and maybe Reliance fttx you never know. with long indian summer coming around it get heated faster when both load are faced by same chipset inside though it get messy with two adapter and extra ethernet wire.
Also make sure that adsl got broadcom chipset inside which tend to give better attenuation rates.

My place will be stuck at 2 MBPS for the foreseeable future, so...
Also, if I go for the router only thing, I'll need a modem too right? to connect the phone line to it, and then the router to it?
Suggestions for modems? Airtel gave me a dabba Beetel one, modem+wifi, chalega?

Just asking: This is ADSL so will work with Airtel phone line connection wala Internet?
