Reliance Wimax Broadband: Reliance WiMAX Youtube Routing issue

It looks like Reliance routes the youtube traffic through VSNL, which few days back used to be routed through FLAG.
This dramatically reduces user experience for the YouTube website.
Did anyone face this?

Are we seeing another scam in the making??

Isn't there anyone who is/has faced this issue?Because of this you get substandard bandwidth while accessing YOUTUBE.Mine is a 400Kbps connection which still buffers the youtube video 😡

ya dude, even m facing the same problem, youtube.com is not opening from past 1 week, youtube works perfectly at my cousin's place whose ISP is BSNL, the site has only problem with Reliance ISP, Mine is 600 Kbps plan from Reliance, had called called reliance cc, they said, they don't know nething about youtube routing traffic through VSNL, ne 1 knows how to resolve this issue

dude, they said they don't know anything about youtube routing traffic through VSNL, Do you or anyone knows what can be done to bring youtube back, it's giving substandard bandwidth from past many days.

Technically, we as end users cannot do anything from our end, however as an end customer we have the following options,

- Prove and convince Reliance that the current routing has a problem and has to be fixed (i shall explain later how can you prove this).
- File a case in Consumer court or write to TRAI. (I am not sure if this has ever worked for anyone though).

Now let me provide certain details of the problem,

FLAG - is an undersea fiber optic cable owned by FLAGTEL Corp (which is owned by Reliance)
NIXI - National Internet Exchange of India


Try the following commands from your PC and observe the outputs,

C:\>tracert www.link-removed.com
C:\>tracert www.bbc.com

You should see something like the following in the outputs,
ge-0-2-0.0.pjr02.mmb004.flagtel.com
so-0-1-0.0.pjr02.ldn001.flagtel.com

so-1-0-0.0.cjr03.ldn004.flagtel.com

"flagtel.com" is an indication that your trafic is going through FLAG undersea cable.

Now see the difference in case of YOUTUBE,

WOW!! there is no "flagtel.com" here instead you will see something like,

218.100.48.141 THIS IS NIXI's IP ADDRESS

Who cares about all this technical shit? why should we even bother about how the ISP does the routing?
There is only one reason why i have provided such a detailed explanation,

- If anyone who has faced this issue calls up Reliance support and they tell you shit like "it's a problem with the YOUTUBE server SIR".

Do return them the favors by throwing all of this technical shit right on their face.

so they might have no router to youtube ISP ...........so they might shift to VSNl so what's the matter guys...........guys .....see this both sites that u have seen me are europen server on from Germany and another from Britain ............ flag telcom which was wonned by RCOM.....they have rotues upto europe..............but............youtube server were in USA.....but the actaull problem was BT which has huge routes to USA though under sea cables was purchased by Cable and WIreless company...........they have blocked the router...........they will shift the rotue to VSNL which has stallite router from Delhi to Level3 in Los angles..................

Very true even on being 1mbps wimax unlimited i used to see buffering in you tube.and now i starts 3 youtube video without buffering 🙂i am waiting for this ass holes to start 2mbps in wimax unlimited package.

I had this issue too, its some virus issue, format your pc and youtube will work fine 🙂 i have a 1mbps connection too of reliance wimax and youtube videos plays smooth in my connection. 😉

I cancelled my Wimax connection as there was lots of fluctuations in the speeds.
