Paytm: Your account is temporarily blocked for login

a contact's Paytm account now show "your account is temporarily blocked for login". seems like a pretty widespread problem for years now. he has around 700 bucks in it which is kind of annoying.

still blocked. and Paytm helpline numbers make it impossible to reach a human being. pretty incredible stuff for a company that operates the most popular digital wallet in the country. i am going to stop keeping money in my paytm wallet. zero customer support means it's not worth the risk.
 
Paytm finally responded that they blocked the account because of suspicious transactions. bullshit reason.
they are now asking the person to do kyc to unlock the account. he has no option but to do so to get his money out.

same. paytm app crashes whenever I try to do any payment. It also crashes when I open my passbook. but same email id works on website without any problem. but whenever I message paytm, standard reply is do KYC. fuck these assholes

the guy actually had to call the Paytm guy who created a new verified account using the second number on his phone.
paytm guy said that he would try to get the old account unlocked.
as of now, the older account remains locked with money stuck in it.
not sure why he did not just verified his existing account. i guess he did not want to wait for his account to get unlocked. that would have delayed his 'sale' for this account.
