Not getting promised speeds! :/

Previously, before this month, I was having the plan "UL 750" 512 Kbps which usually gave me around 70-90 kB/s speeds..Last month I wanted to change my plan to "ULD 900" 4 Mbps till 8 Gb and 512 Kbps after.. But as from April first till day before yesterday I got around 200 kB/s speeds.. I called up BSNL and the person told me that I had the plan "UL 900" 1 Mbps unlimited.. Is there such a plan? I was freaking out what I'm gonna do with a small limit like 8 Gb.. But I didn't know this 1 Mbps plan existed.. I thought it was a good thing that the lady i submitted the form had misinterpreted and had issued this plan..until I downloaded about 10 Gb and all I'm getting since yesterday is around 50-60 kB/s! Really pissing off.. Any solutions? Is there some limit for this plan!?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

bsnl aunties dont know anything.and not any plan exist as far as i know.

Which location are you from as there is an ULD 900...
4 Mbps upto 8 GB, 256 Kbps beyond 8 GB
In some areas its 256, in some areas 512...

So you are getting whatever you wanted for 8 GB (4 mbps) ... But the catch is that its 256 & not 512 beyond 8 GB. might be based on location?

Presently in Chennai, and here it's 512 beyond 8 GB. So there isn't any unlimited 1 Mbps plan like the 512 unlimited? And I read somewhere that low speeds are due to some caps on my port.. If so how do I contact BSNL regarding this? Lastly, is there any 1 or 2 mbps unlimited or atleast around 30-40 gb limit under Rs.1100 ? Sorry for a lot of questions!

Not in BSNL. In that range you would probably get a FUP-based plan of around 15 GB.
You need to stretch your budget or probably go for a minute-FUP plan (which you already have)

Hope you have gone through the plans here -
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

Reliance has the best plans, but in my experience - the worst service.
There are other guys like Spectranet - But their area of coverage is limited.

Yes, it does exist... Once again check neighbours and stuff before getting it though
