I have 675/- 5GB plan active on my line but i am getting constant 2mbps(230KBps) throughout the month no variable speed nothing. It was supposed to be 5GB/day at 10mbps. Any idea why this is happening?

Data rate is set at 2047 🥴

You would have to deal with local exchange people. Though I guess you can start with registering a complaint online.

They need to increase your line speed from their server. Getting them to do it is the hard part.

Instead of Tweeting your complain to @BSNLCorporate I would suggest to use their regional twitter handle (@BSNL_UPE in my case). The Regional twitter handles your complain seriously. I had the same issue as you have. I had a 8mbps connection but was getting only 1mbps . It took me 1 year (regular visit to Exchange did nothing and BSNL Selfcare was useless as everytime I complained the status was set to resolve even BSNLCorporate twitter handle did nothing they pushed every complaint to bsnl Selfcare) after I found that One User in Broadband Forum had this same problem he used their Regional Twitter Handle and his problem was solved within few hours. I also did the same thing and they solved the problem just in 6 - 7 hours

@sid.teche @Shubham @Sushubh i got hold of phone number of main exchange and i told him that i was not getting the speed and that i can see they have reduced my data rate to 2mbps, problem got resolved in 5mins and now i am getting 8mbps down and 0.5mbps up, still not the advertised speed so i asked again then he said if he puts 10mbps there will be dsl disconnections and all so he can't increase it more whatever.

You will never get full speeds on copper wires. 8 Mbps is the best you can get on a 10 Mbps connection. He is correct.

yeah connection would become unstable if you push for more than what the line can handle!

No, you can take their modem at rent its Rs. 90 per month. Although some users here have paid for the ONT outright, i have always heard people paying in the range of 1500-2000 depending on how much their LCO demands.
