good god ppl still use this bloated piece of crap called norton !! esp now their source code is out in wild it is time to avoid it like aids.

Norton is not bloated and source code that has been leaked is of a very old version. The program has been rewritten since then.

Biggest memory hog I have ever seen..though now much improved but still I dont like it. 🙂

^ heard about that in 2011 so went to try it, cold boot on 4 gigs of ram went from under 10 secs to nearly 1 minute !! it used to be good in 2002 or 03 , now it is just crap with tons of false positive , takes ages to scan and that auto update is a royal pain in the ass esp when you are gaming, and yeah forget about running heavy games like BF3 or any latest ones until you are loaded with 12 gigs of ram with this av. plus uninstalling it is such a bitch you have to do a clean install to get rid tons reg entries and call home hacks which norton installs , there much better and free products in market now .... but each to his own i guess 🙂

Don't derail the discussion guys. There are people who still use Norton 2012 products. This thread is for them to procure a three PC licence for a nominal cost. It is not about whether Norton is a piece of bloatware or whether it's source code got leaked.
