MY email to Airtel

Since The TRAI has implemented that the minimum broadband speed to be 512kbps , will the current plans which after FUP limit reached will be put on 256kbps or as per TRAI it will be 512kbps ,because anything below 512 kbps is not broadband as per TRAI terms..

Also as a customer and part of IBF forum member , and a avid technology follower , i and others like me want to know why FUP was implemented and we feel that the limits sets are very small compared to the international pricing and given speed/price...

Even though i had airtel BB[BroadBand] connection before when i was in Chennai .. currently i am in ----------------, and have 4 years before itself have requested a BB connection at ------ office, but still no steps were taken to implement internet in our place..

Anyway even if its implemented , currently there is no plan in airtel which satisfies my need.. mainly because all plans are limited[FUPed].. which i don't want.., and even if it does launch in my place , i will personally see to that , my friends and friends of friends dont buy any of your FUPed up plans..

also i want to know that as for ur blackout days

List of Airtel Blackout Days- Airtel Blackout Days:

* New Year’s Day
* Guru Gobind Singh Birthday
* Lohri
* Republic Day
* Valentine’s Day
* Holi
* Baisakhi
* Friendship Day
* Independence Day
* Dussehra
* One day prior to Diwali
* Diwali
* Guru Nanak Day

New year is on 1st of jan , but u started charging on the day before too , and that too at 50p/sms even if i had rate cutter ... and on the day of new year , 1RS / sms was charged.. as per rules u can charge normal sms on festival/holiday day which is 1st of jan...

also this limitation was imposed because of the network clogging due to sms .. if that's so , set the limit of say 20 sms at usual rate and beyond 20 sms , u can charge at normal rate.. this way people who really want to send legitimate , non greeting sms can send without having to pay extra.. also what is the purpose of my sms rate cutter ? if i can send 3000sms / month for 3 months for 49RS or so , then take sms from that count ...

i will be posting this email in broadbandforum.in , and ur future responses will also be posted there ...

Well, you cud have answered the question here itself.Why do u have to know his contact number? Are you trying to individualize the person so that unity on the forum goes? Like take on one customer/person at a time individually.He wants to reveal everything on the forum, so why not post ur reply here right away?

Yes, why not post evrything/any clarification or any plan here itself so that each members need not to be contacted individually. Fups and tariffs are applicable to all customers alike, so if there is any thing new or special why not post it here itself ?this question of 512 kbps as definition is going to be applicable to all customers, so if there is any update/clarification on it, why not mention it here itself.Even the special section created for Airtel_Presence is looking of no use if we all are to get those old copy paste replies!

Haha, wow so the email is already posted to them, and yet they are asking...looks like person who reads email is different from the one who logs in here.

same old drama of cc continues these guys wont change . I actually believe airtel did the dumbest mistake of asking for a section here bcoz people will bash them more here and if these copy paste replies come god save airtel.

I personally feel that this is a little premature - officially the 512kbit/s definition hasn't kicked in yet. Yes yes, we all know that the document said from 1/1/2011, but that document was only released on 8 December, and it hasn't yet been ratified or legislated. Nice if it had been pushed through, but the 2010 Broadband Plan hasn't entered in to regulation to replace the 2004 plan.Fortunately, there is some foresight in that when this one is ratified, not only will the definition increase at first to 512kbit/s, but then on 1/1/2015 that definition will automatically jump up to 2mbit/s.

@MC, ya i read that too 2015 2mbps .... let them first implement the 512kbps ... lol

You're missing the point. The document has not been legislated.

But when it is, they will have to upgrade to 512kbit/s immediately and subsequently in 2015 upgrade to 2mbit/s without any further legislative delay.

Implementation isn't really the issue at the moment, red-tape is, because as of now no-one is obligated to upgrade anything until the 2010 plan is signed in to replace the existing 2004 one.
