I moved to Beam 10Mbps plan and my connection got activated today.Couple of queries:1. I am facing a peculiar issue - the connectivity goes down very momentarily every 2 to 3 mins, but reconnects immediately. There is no issue while browsing as the reconnection is very instant, but my VPN and IM gets disconnected during this momentary disconnection and this is an issue. I discussed with the technician, but he has no idea why this happens. Anyone faced this issue?2. Speed:speedtest.net connecting to Mumbai server: ~4 Mbps. (My plan is 10Mbps and confirmed from customer care that it's set right)speedtest.beamtele.com (most probably connects to backbone at Hyderabad): ~7 Mbps. The technician had changed the "Link Speed & Duplex" configuration of my Ethernet LAN to "10Mbps Half Duplex" to make the connection working. Just curious if the same link speed setting done for all Beam users? Technician said if the auto does not work, they try 10Mbps setting. My laptop's LAN adapter is Intel(R) 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection and the default value of "Auto negotiation" for Link Speed did not work in both my laptop as well as desktop. 1 Gbps, 100Mbps Half/Full Duplex setting also did not work - get the network cable is unplugged message in these settings. 10 Mbps Full Duplex works, but the speed is exactly half of what I get with half duplex. Any idea why "Auto negotiation" setting not working and is it anyway related to my less than promised speed?Till I get resolution from Beam, just wanted to check with the community as I might get right answers here than from the local Beam technician. Appreciate your time in this and Thanks in advance!PS. The fiber comes till my apartment basement and from BONT, the connectivity to my flat is through the internal lines (not sure of what to call these lines, but it's through the same lines where telephone connectivity is done). I am connecting directly to my laptop (no router). Thanks!Balaji

its beam ur bound to face problems with it...thats the reason they are giving the plans at so cheap prices...

I too faced similar problem when i was on BSNL, every 2 r 5 min's DSL used to go off n come. This is a technical issue from ur node

ask technician to change port switch or install a new BONT.

balls,
can someone smell odd, you are an jealous ass.. That you dont have a isp which offers such speeds for low cost. I have been reading how craptel is kicking u!

@TechFreek - Thanks man, it was indeed useful tip - After the guy changed the port, i am not facing this issue of getting disconnected every 2-3 mins. But NOW, there is disconnection every say 1 to 2 hr (frequency is not very consistent but it does consistently disconnect). I have to disable/enable my LAN adapter to renew after which it connects... have you faced this issue?@anant.del - I agree we would have problems. It's Speed vs Reliability trade off. I completely forget about the frustration once connected - Speed is awesome and nowhere compared to my earlier Airtel 512Kbps for same cost.

Thanks all.Solved the issue - External wiring DIRECT from the BONT to my router solved the issue. So all new users always insist on single direct wire from BONT to your router/system. My earlier issues (speed, intermittent disconnectivity, 10 Mbps half duplex setting in my LAN adapter) were caused due to the internal wiring in my apartment, the technician earlier used the existing internal wiring (connected in the same cable of the telephone line - it had 4 pairs of cable). It seems multiple joints in these cables at multiple locations (BONT, my flat entrance, my PC socket) before getting connected to my router was the CULPRIT.
