Missed Calls from Pakistan Scam

Guys,Recently I've been getting missed calls from certain international numbers in the middle of night .. its 00:46 and Just had a missed call from +30535569999 .. previously have had missed calls from +23222288985Dont wanna call back these numbers as I'm sure its from no one that I know .. looks like some sort of scam when Googled for these numbersAnyone experienced such calls .. ?
 
from google, prolly this would happen if you call back (you may have seen it already)

when i call back, they talk in hindi, the girl ask my name and fathers name....
she told me i win a lucky draw N Series Nokia PHONE,
she ask me choose a color .....
then i feel i got stuck and i disconnect the phone.....
when i check my balance ....
i talk nearly 1min and 35 seconds ....
my balance deducted by nerly 90Rs,
so please donot call back at these INTERNATIONAL NUMBERS.

Looks like this is what they are doing .. I wonder how innovative people get when it comes to cheating people ...

In some countries calls to some special numbers are charged at a very heavy rate and the revenue is shared with the person who owns the number. When the call originates outside the country, the international carrier has to pay the money to the receiving country.

Airtel charges Rs 45/- per minute for calls to Sierra Leone (+232).

Do NOT call/callback an unrecognised international number just out of curioisty because you have no clue how much you are being charged.
 
this is just an trick from subscriber to wack out money from you. its happend with me couple of times. 2 months back 2 calls came, one from london and one from libia. but was saved from being victimised.the thing is to be cautious ...never disclose your personal information. and never call back.
 
it's a known scam. they give you a missed call. you call back. you are scammed. 😕
 
Yesterday i got a missed call from +923026708857 on my Tata DoCoMo cell.
 
Bizarre scam,No one seem to be benefiting from it. You call a foreign number, you lose money, but what do the scamsters get?
 
its a 419 type scam. they say you have won a lottery or some product or something like that.

they ask you to give them your personal details. might ask for some payments too.

some people might fall for it. it's a profitable business in the end?

and since it is a missed call they do not really lose anything.
 
as is mentioned some posts above, in some countries there are special numbers where call rates are very high and the receiver gets part of that payment.
 
I received a call from 003444 a while back . Googled around a little, points mostly towards a scam. Gee, its ringing again. Is this a similar scam or what?
 
I received a missed call from some European country few weeks back , i googled i think it was hungary
