Machete Kills is an upcoming action exploitation film, which is currently to be directed by Robert Rodriguez. It is a sequel to both the 2010 film, Machete, the fake trailer in Grindhouse and a spin-off of Spy Kids. The script has been written by Rodriguez and the film will star Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan and Michelle Rodriguez all reprising their roles from the first film and newcomers to the series, Lady Gaga, Vanessa Hudgens, Mel Gibson, Demián Bichir,
Alexa Vega, Zoe Saldana, Amber Heard and Charlie Sheen. The film will follow the titular ex-federale (Trejo) as he is recruited by the US government to stop an arms dealer (Gibson) from launching a deadly missile. Rodriguez has stated that he may have to hire another director if filming clashes with Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
