Landline Service from Reliance Jio Fiber

Jio has started Landline services for new customers from today.

do we have to buy the landphone or will they provide it?

You have 3 options
1. Buy a new landline handset
2. Use any existing Handset
3. Use Jio4GVoice app on your phone

must voip based just plugin your existing phone instrument to voice port in jio fiber router.

I already have the jiofiber connection. Anyone knows how to apply for the landline ?

@Dhiraj If you want it immediately, you will have to apply for a new connection.

I got a call from the jiofiber sales executive and he told me that the landline and Gigatv box will be rolled out in the next 2 months. They will email and call people who has jiobiber connections already. They will be the first ones to get it. And whoever who gets a new connection later will have the option to take these additional services.

is Landline no. porting a thing?

@undercover somewhere you mentioned that we can port landline. Can we port MTNL to Airtel or Jio landline?

To new customers only?
Here also, they said the same thing. LL will be available for new customers who pay for the Rs. 2500 deposit router.
Any Idea when they will give to old customers?

Then, It may be better to wait for IPTV release also for our second giga connection.

Waiting for change of VOIP Registration status.

I also got landline service with GigaFiber few days ago but there are few issues/bugs and lags with this service.

(i) There is no old BSNL like dail tone. Only continuous bip like sound. This is not the big issue.

(ii) Main problem is that there is long delay/ lag (5 to 15 seconds) in out-going calls after dial the number.

(iii) Sometimes, there is also incoming call delay/ lag in landline when mobile calling is going but landline ringing is very delayed or sometimes no ringing at all on landline.

(iv) Landline ringing pattern and sound also bit changed and become very irritated.
First there is a single long ringing and then long pause and then again long ringing.
This issue was not with old BSNL copper landline service.

(v) Jio VoIP landline service not working after changing the default ISP DNS to other public DNS like Google or Cloudflare etc.

So do you also have same issues? Please answer to all questions step-by-step. @undercover
