Hey Guys,

I'm writing this post with the hope that I can get my hard earned money back from the crooks at Joister Infoserve Pvt Ltd, cause everything else seems to have failed.

So, basically i was looking to have a corporate leased line for my gaming cafe after getting fed up of frequent packet drops and latency issues on my existing broadband connection. I researched various companies & plans and finally settled for a 12mbps leased line from Joister, I had used their services in the past and was pretty satisfied with it at the time. My leap of faith backfired from the get go. From the day the so called leased line, which by the way comes with a 99.5% uptime SLA, was activated I have been facing connection, packet loss and latency issues unlike anything i have experienced before even on broadband. In fact my broadband connection works way better compared to this bullshit of an ILL service. Instead of breathing a sigh of relief thinking the ILL will sort all my internet woes, it has given me nothing but sleepless nights. There are packet loss issues ranging from 5% to 50% everyday to their own gateway and i've grown tired of raising ticket after ticket for the same damn thing.

After i had enough with their corporate support team who had the same standard canned replies "sir, theres some issue in the backend", I tried contacting the salesman (Yogendra Dwivedi) who sold me this crap, he had a standard reply; talk to my seniors as i'm a mere salesman. I got in touch with his superior (Mohit Soni) and after hundreds of calls and messages he too didnt give me a resolution. I reached to officials further up the escalation matrix and finally got an assurance from a Kunal Mewada that they have finally fixed all the backend issues and will keep my line under observation for problems for a week and if they persist, they would issue a refund. As expected, the line worked for 2 days and from day 3 I was having the same packet loss issues all over again. So, when i approached the said Kunal again for the refund, he kept me hanging for a week and then told me to contact a Melwyn DSouza and said he will sort out the refund. So, I got in touch with Melwyn who assured me that the refund would be done in 15 days approx. I waited patiently without bothering them for 15 days and when i contacted Melwyn again, he told me he has quit the job. I was like WTF! After making me suffer for close to 2 months and assuring me of the refund, this guy has quit the job and left me in the lurch once again.

Since the past 10 days i have been contacting the customer relationship manager Mishal Vithlani, who sits on top of the escalation matrix and knows my plight and has been in the email loops since the beginning but he too refuses to help. He has stopped replying to my messages and doesnt answer calls. All of them have just kept me hanging by making some or the other excuse and there is no sign of the promised refund.

Interestingly when i had threatned legal action and told them i'll take my grivances online all over social media, I got a call from Mohit assuring me that this time he is following up personally with the admin and finance teams and that the refund has been processed and the funds will definitely be in my bank account within 1-7 days. He sent me the assurance mail on 11th June 2019, and today is the 28th of June, there is still no sign of the refund.

I have paid Rs 1.20 lacs to these thugs in advance for a 12mbps corporate leased line which has a SLA (Service Level Agreement) of 99.5% uptime and below 3% packet loss guarantee, which they have not only breached but are refusing to return my money just because they have collected it in advance. Since they already have my money i cannot even sign up for another ISP and my business is taking a huge hit because of it. Begging, pleading, requesting, threatning, nothing seems to be working with these people. As a last resort I'm creating this post and hope you guys see the unethical practices done by Joister Infoserve to customers like us and thinking they will get away with it. I'm already suffering immensely by falling in their trap but I urge y'all to share this as much as possible so that others dont fall for the sweet talk of their fraud salesmen and get entrapped.

We are a small business and for us Rs 1.2 lacs is a huge amount for an internet connection, we cannot fork out an additional 1Lac+ for another connection till we get the money back from these people. I have paid them the entire amount by getting a loan and got the connection installed on April 1st, its been 3 months now and not a single day goes by without the connection suffering packet loss and connection drop issues. With every passing day we are steadily losing our customer base due to bad internet and we can't do anything about it. These scumbags are just sitting on my money, taking things for granted and playing their dirty delay tactics without even an iota of consideration to what the other party must be suffering.

The screenshots of the packet loss issues with timestamps and the email transcripts where the refund was promised are attached here for all to see.

you have to take legal action I don't see any other way out of this.

1.2 lacs was for how much duration ?

I have already initiated legal action parallelly. 1.2 lacs is for a year, but the connection has been worse than a broadband from day it got installed in April. I have been consistently following up with them for a refund but all I get are empty promises.

Line went down twice today and I was given a turn around time of 2 hours each time, so thats 4 hours of our productive time gone! And this is the scenario everyday.

Take legal action and apply for a leased line from a professional telecom company like Airtel/Vodafone. The former is known for it's excellent service even in the corporate world.

As for Joister, my initial experience with them, a couple of years ago, was not pleasant. I applied for a home broadband connection, gave them an advance and was suddently told that a connection wasn't possible due to "technical reasons" when I asked him what he meant by that the guy said Sir the sales guys want more people in the society to take connections without which we cannot djustify the cost of cabling to your place. I asked him why he assured me of a connection without getting facts in order but anyway to cut a long story short they refunded my advance after 10 days. I do NOT recommend Joister for any purpose whether broadband and now, after your post, for a leased line as well.

I need to get my money back, before i can apply for any other connection. Thanks for your concern, appreciate it 🙂

And here we go again.

@praashant have they checked the wire/cable connectivity from your CPE to the NOC? It may be worth having them check the line especially during the monsoon.

@C3PO They have checked everything mate and admitted themselves that they cant fix the issues and thus promised the refund. Connection issues are not monsoon specific, they activated my link in April and from day 1 there have been issues.

After lodging grievances with department of telecommunication at pgportal and posting about the issue on social media etc Joister finally issued the refund of the entire amount to me vide a cheque last month. This was done after numerous calls and strongarming by the DoT but obviously the cheque bounced because of insufficient funds in their bank account. This is heights of cheating, i've lodged a complaint again with the DoT, lets see what happens now.

This should serve as warning to all who are thinking of going with Joister for their ISP needs.
