Being a 6 year old customer i'm totally unsatisfied like most of the people with these FUP shit. To me 256 kbps is history. I need a min 512 kbps without FUP. So what u guys suggest me? Reliance wireline broadband users please pour in your suggestions.

same question here - a fed up tata customer.. check out my siggy for more info on my plight :O

R u using it?
Yep. More than an year now. People make choosing an ISP much more contrived than it really is. There are only two left in India that don't enforce "fair caps"--Reliance and MTNL. With MTNL's limited availability, that only leaves Reliance. As far as quality and all those goodies are concerned, they fluctuate and vary depending on where you live. People are quick to comment on bad experiences relating to things but seldom would compliment and/or say positive things if they're satisfied with the service.

Reliance's customer support is retarded. It really is. Unless your queries relate to billing/filing a complaint, spare yourself a migraine and don't call them. As with any other ISP here (or any other service, I should say) after applying, you have to ride their backs for a couple of days. Reliance is not ADSL like Airtel, they use an RJ-45 converter, whose technical term escapes me at the moment. Anyway, the only annoying thing relating to that is the web login. Due to their Modem running in bridge mode, you can't share the Internet via the router without jumping through bunch of hoops.

If ICS is a priority, then depending on your uses (WiFi/Wired) get an additional LAN card (If you lack 2xLAN ports) or a PCI WiFi card/Random Linksys/Netgear Router to share the internet.

Reliance has three unlimited plans, pick whichever suits your pocket. Reliance's DNS servers are slow for me, so I use Google's. I'd recommend running Namebench before you modify your DNS, however.

Not sure what part of this you're not getting... I REPLIED to your question. It was a LONG and DETAILED reply that is under moderation due to it raising language flags. You CAN'T see it till it gets approved by a moderator. The above posts are different from my ORIGINAL reply, I posted those to notify you of the original reply being in moderation.

Yes, its worth shifting from Airtel to Reliance because of no FUP and as far as I had used (1 year), not even single disconnection occured 😀

I don't know if it's worth migrating to Reliance or not but I suggest you go for it. Test it for a month and if you're satisfied, continue with it else dump it.

yeah go for Reliance 🙂 you will get more download and upload speed as per your plan. As per my 2 weeks experience, WiMax 1.5 Mbps unlimited plan with static IP in which i am getting 1.8 Mbps download and 2.63 Mbps Upload 🙂 always
