Just managed to get a new line installed and I was surprised with one of the best line stats ever seen for MTNL.

Loop length comes out to be just 75 mts from DSLAM. Facing 0 disconnections since last 3-4 days. Being under 300 mts loop length, I would be eligible for G.Fast if MTNL decides to deploy it.

Dear @d5aqoëp @kickass could you guys pls advise here? im kinda confused , since rains my super stable connection has started being bumpy with frequent disconnects and a steep drop in connection speed.
Im on the 2049 VDSL plan (fup 500GB) still my line states are per below, could you guys advise me in the right direction?
calls to mtnl qcs have been futile as they have no idea how it works.

I am posting my last years stats with the current one to show the difference.
Dont know if its the modem, or the line itself, any advise under your guidance is appreciated as always.

I missed the notification or never got it when you tagged me in the post I guess. Anyway, its been more than a month now. How is the connection now? Which plan are you on? That upstream rate is too good.

Getting VDSL for me is almost impossible as they say its more than the suitable distance and no matter how many months I tried pushing them for it, they won't budge so now I am trying my best to get Fiber installed. That they are okay with but painfully slow. So no luck yet with that as such.

Your line attenuation has increased which means loop length has increased. You have to call up your linesman and ask them to get your line checked.

@demonicult
Connection is good. Recently they have synced me at 69999 kbps downstream and 10240 kbps upstream. No disconnections so far and connection holding good. The server guy confirmed that 69999 kbps is the maximum sync anyone can get and it is the limit of VDSL2 DSLAM which MTNL is using. I downgraded from VDSL 2999 to VDSL 2049 as it gives me more data (500 GB vs 365 GB earlier) and cheaper by Rs. 950 too.

Till July end, I used to get 48-49 Mbps download speed on MTNL server. But from 1st Aug, I am getting 51-53 Mbps. Some minor adjustments at their end.

I actually paid for new FTTH connection through their online portal on 2nd July. I had emailed their AGM/BGM/CGM/DGM whatever they are called, saying that, it is shameful that they cannot even provide FTTH connection to buildings which are within 100 mts radius of their mothership. They appeared to have forwarded my email to concerned dept but things are awefully quiet. I am in contact with the FTTH linesman and he says that he doesn't know when "they" will mobilise their FTTH team to lay the cable.

Probably MTNL will wake up when Jio launches their GigaFiber portal on this coming 15th Aug and declares their plans. Every broadband player or LCO is going to shit in their pants. Unfortunately it would be too late to play reactive to Jio's power game.

Thats the perfect VDSL connection you got there. If this is so good your FTTH connection is going to be gold.

BSNL has launched some new plans and promoting FTTH as much as they can. Hope MTNL does the same.

The JioGigaFiber 90days promo is quite decent. I am thinking I would just use it during the promo and hope MTNL FTTH installation is done by then.

My story with FTTH is terrible. I have paid for its installation almost 2-3 years ago I think. There was a work order and a new number allocated to me at that time. (They told me its new number as FTTH comes directly from mothership) I been trying since then and past year they were all silent until 6 months (Dec-Jan) ago. They called me back saying they have a new dept/section in the exchange to make sure all the fiber installation are done in time so they wanted to confirm if I am still interested as I have already paid for it. I said yes, do it as soon as they can. So far nothing yet. The linesman told me last week I should come back and visit the exchange soon to meet a person.

@demonicult

Just a quick update:
Still no FTTH installation done. (Almost 3 month passed) I might ask for refund now.

BTW they increased my Upload sync to 15 Mbps. Hopefully they give more data because competition offers far more data than MTNL's corresponding plans.

Awesome stats. Your profile has Vectoring applied. It reduces crosstalk and boosts line stats. I am staying directly opposite the Tel exchange so my stats are as good as it gets without Vectoring. I am actually applying for MTNL FTTH. Need to do a lot of followup but once I get FTTH, these VDSL stats are redundant.

BTW which make and model of VDSL modem are you using?

In my case building next to me has got airtel FTTH so their node is also there
so it is basically fiber and then from that building to my house by old copper lines.
My modem is Huawei HG633 provided by airtel itself.
