I don't want to have a wi-fi connection in my house. I only want an ethernet connection on my laptop.

I found the following article which explains how to do this. It basically says that the internet line comes into your house, then goes into a modem, and from the modem, you connect it to an ethernet switch which you buy on Amazon, and from that switch you connect to your device via an ethernet cable. It says that in case the modem is also a router, then you need to turn off the wi-fi by going to the settings.

I asked the Airtel vendor near my house and he said that this is not possible on Airtel because the wi-fi option in their modem cannot be turned off. They use a Nokia g2425g-a modem.

Is there a way to work around this?

I am not sure if the wifi on this modem cannot be turned off. If that is indeed the case, perhaps I can buy my own modem which does not have wifi.

Any ideas about this?

ACT Fibernet says they can provide this for me but I would prefer Airtel
