Hello Mr. Mande,

ADSL routers can only be connected to ADSL connections provided by some Internet Service Providers . The ADSL connectivity is carried over POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) lines that also connects your Telephone(RJ 11 Connector used).

Tikona provides Broadband connecting with Ethernet port and hence WI-Fi connectivity can be provided by a Wi-Fi Router with a Ethernet WAN port (RJ45 Connector Used). Plenty of Wi-Fi routers are available in market . To configure your router , refer to Tikona Broadband Forum • Index page (Path: Board index ‹ Support ‹ Do it Yourself ‹ Configure Wi-fi Router)

Alternatively you can also opt for Secured & maintained @llhome Wi-Fi provided by Tikona at One time charges of Rs 1500 + Taxes.

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for your reply! My adsl2+ router (DSL-2750U) works with tikona when I connect rj45 of tikona into LAN port of my router. But some times it simple fails. Before this I was having D-Link dir615 router which was working seamlessly for almost one year. From last 1 month I am facing random disconnection. I face same problem when I connect broadband directly to my laptop. It seems that there is some problem from tikona side.Registered no: 9766644004Tikona id: 1104359767At this time I have only one problem that is random loss of connection. Please take a look into it.Thanks!

Follow these steps in this order for DLINK 2730 modem, for setting up both as a LAN router and Wifi Access Point. Connect the LAN cable to LAN1 port on router and login to router ip (192.168.1.1) for doing these setup. Login with admin/admin as userid/password.1) Advanced Setup-> Layer2, Add atm0 with default settings2) WAN Service -> Add with Bridge type selected, keep others default3) Wireless ->Enable Wireless, and give your own SSID, keep others default4) Wireless-> Security-> Give Network Authentication as WPA-Personal, and passprase will be your own password to connect to WiFi5) Interface Grouping -> Give a group name as WAN, and select WL0, LAN2, LAN3, LAN4 from right to left, Apply/Save. Now there should be 2 groups one Default with LAN1 and other with new Group Name6) LAN -> In the right top dropdown select WAN group and disable DHCP, Apply/Save7) Management->Settings->Backup your settings8) Management -> RebootConnect the output from Tikona to LAN2 port on the router, connect your laptop to Wifi on the router using the SSID/passphrase. This should work, else shutdown router for 10 seconds, disable your wireless network and log-off/on again, enable wireless network and try connecting again. After this the ethernet wire coming from Tikona should be connected to LAN2 port, and you can use wifi. Note that LAN1 port is used to connect to the router only (192.168.1.1) after this setup.RegardsShashi

@smshashi...thanks man. It helped me very much configuring D-Link DSL-2750U. My friend(using BSNL) has bought this product and i checked it with my Tikona connection temporarily.

my router stopped responding after trying to complete step 5. I had to then hard reset it. please help. I have a rj45 lan cable coming from my wireless receiver which I need to connect to D-Link 2750u to make my environment wireless.

Hi Shashi,
Thanks for this nice post.
I could configure my DSL-2750u router following these steps.
The next step that I am trying to achieve is as follows:
1. My router has a USB port and I added a HDD onto it.
2. The disk is reachable using 192.168.1.1publicusb1_1
3. After the modifications as described by you, I can access the disk if I connect using LAN1
4. I wish to connect to it using wl0.
5. So I am looking at implementing some routing/NATting
6. But not yet successful.
Can you shed some light on any possible way for this?

Kangkan

I assume u are using tikona, hence ur unable to connect (them online) more than 2 devices. Its tikona's limit that they do not allow more than 2 devices simultaneously logging in.

You might have connected to a different port other than LAN1 while you were configuring these steps. Try connecting to your admin login page with LAN cable in LAN1 port and you should be able to continue further and connect fine. Many people have followed these steps and successfully connected (see their posts below)

I searched for a post which mentions about a hack to use same MAC on different devices.

Hi Shashi,
I was able to connect to internet via WIFI as well as LAN(i.e. 2 connections) for 1 day. The next day onwards I am unable to open the tikona login page even if I am connected to WIFI. My internet connection via LAN(single PC) is working fine. I tried it on 2 phones but still I am not able to get the tikona login page. What should I do to get it working?
