Today my 12 M subscription is about to expire , so visited airtel to see what package suites me best. The listing of channels and inability to compare two or more packages makes selecting a package a tiring process. Also South Mega packs contain less of south channel or "most wanted" channels and instead carry too many hindi channels , making "South XYZ" packs a joke..I had to select Magnum package , since in all other packs SunTV and many other channels were missing and i was unable to find a chota pack to get those channels. After 6 months (for which i have subscribed now) , i am seriously considering switching DTH.I am just staying with Airtel for its PQ , but now Tata , big , sun are also at par with airtel.Anyway , Airtel needs to simplify their package selection page and make is easy to compare two package with ease.

Comparing of channel content in each packs is very simple in Tata Sky.Its bit difficult to understand in Airtel. But as per my calculation, if I have to go for channels in TATASKY which I currently get in Airtel, it would costly in TATASKY.

IMO Airtel purposefully has made their site convoluted. The package list alone stretches about 15+ in number and each have their "List" link , which opens in a pop-up (WTF). So trying to compare even two packs will be an Himalayan task (literally). After my best effort , and with no way of knowing is sun tv and other channels (mostly for my family) are available in other packs , i decided to take the costlier Magnum pack. :headbang: The problem didnt stop there , I tried changing my pack, but site gave my error or got a sms saying i cant change etc. Had to call CC , for which 12150 which was stated on their site was busy for 1+ hour ( again WTF) , had to try a tolled number to get it resolved.Seriously Airtel instead of running their business , instead should close and save soo many innocent soul from misery (including me). I am staying only for their PQ.

why cant you choose whatever you like instead of PACKAGES??? it is expensive ?
Yes choosing individual channels turns out to be expensive. Like some channels cost Rs 20/30/...
While we can go for packages which could bring per channel cost down.

persoanlly i dont watch TV at all. when there is internet and the speed you dont see what they show you you watch what you want. I use netflix amazingly good . also many other services for indian tvs such as Yupp and all...

well i did try to select only the channel i watch , but all DTH operators force you take a base pack , which is around 120 Rs or so , add on it HD channels and other selected channels , you will end up with much lesser channels , but costly than the nearest package they offer which has more channels (mostly unwanted). My TV watching has also gone down , but when i do see , i would want to have my favorite channels to be there .Yes Their site is pathetically slow , if you watch closely , the site keeps on redirecting you to newer URL , without loading anything . I dont know who the website designer is , but it clearly shows , he is unfit for managing a big site like of airtel. All pages are static and it could be made viewer friendly. Many times , the site takes too long to even load.

well i owuld like to ask anybody if there are altenatives to watch tv online ? I have seen Yupp.com , but streaming websites are filled with ads is there any good one with free or almost no charge to people ? BTW yupp charges like 60 Kronos a month for a subscription...
