have not tried it inside the car. but the grip seems to be pretty firm. so it should work great. 🙂 i just need to find a place in the car to fit it in. looks good as it is not a phone specific dock! thanks for a quick delivery. 🙂
 
i have no plans to return it 😕 i am probably going to order some more stuff.
 
ah well. i do not think this dock works well for me. phone has already dropped two times while driving. too many bad roads here in gurgaon. also... this dock would not work with Galaxy nexus that i plan to buy soon. galaxy nexus has a textured back which is not supported by this dock... realized it too late... turns out i sort of made a mistake ordering this dock 😛 i am also not sure how long would this glue last. it does seem to work well on good roads. but grip gets loose whenever i drive over a bunch of potholes...

You can clean the glue base with water to regain it's stickiness. If you want otherwise, you may return it. No worries.
